Rally and City Council Testimony Planned to Save Escondido Public Library from Outsourcing
Library supporters to gather Wednesday, August 23 at 3:30, prior to City Council meeting

Escondido, CA: Supporters of the Escondido Public Library will once again rally outside Escondido City Hall Wednesday at 3:30 to protest Escondido City Council plans to outsource library management to a for-profit, out-of-state company. Attendees will be carrying signs and a banner made by children who use the library.

Concerned library users and volunteers will also be speaking at the Escondido City Council meeting at 4:30. Escondido citizens and library patrons are concerned that the City Council is making too hasty a decision to outsource library services, without proper due diligence and consideration of other options.

Members will be on hand to speak to the media.
